PANTECH WIRELESS NAMES BRIGHTSTAR AS U.S. DISTRIBUTION & LOGISTICS PARTNER
Seventh largest global handset manufacturer to work with Brightstar to support expansion in U.S. market
CYPRESS, CA – December 1, 2005 — Pantech Wireless, a subsidiary of Pantech&Curitel Communications, Inc., announced today that it has selected Brightstar, a leading supply chain management and mobile solutions company, to provide distribution and support services for Pantech products throughout the U.S.
Pantech&Curitel Communications, Inc. is an affiliate of the Korean-based Pantech group, the second largest handset manufacturer in Korea, and the seventh largest in the world. Under the terms of the agreement, Brightstar will provide Pantech Wireless handsets and accessories to regional network operators, independent agents and retail customers in the U.S..

Sales of Pantech group manufactured products in the U.S market under other brand names reached seven million units in 2004, a 74% increase from the previous year, and the company has ambitious plans to boost its market share during 2006.
