MITSUI & CO. MAKES $50 MILLION INVESTMENT IN BRIGHTSTAR

MIAMI -August 14, 2006 – Brightstar Corp., the leading wireless distribution and supply chain solutions company in the world, announced today they have completed a US $50 million investment with Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Mitsui”)

Under the terms of the investment, Mitsui will hold one of the largest shareholder positions and will have a seat on Brightstar’s board of directors.

According to the two companies, the investment will support Brightstar’s global expansion activities with a focus on identifying and collaborating on business opportunities throughout the world, especially in the Asia-Pacific Region.

Mitsui and Brightstar are currently working together in Australia and have also agreed to jointly evaluate opportunities in the fast-growing Asia-Pacific market. The companies are focusing on Brightstar’s new operations in Southeast Asia with regional headquarters in Singapore supporting the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Mitsui’s Information, Electronic and Telecommunications Business Unit focuses on the fast-growing mobile handset business as one of its key business domains, and has been active in the business of selling system solutions, providing mobile content service, and distributing mobile handsets, through both domestic and overseas subsidiaries and partners. Mitsui seeks to further expand its mobile related business overseas by strengthening its business collaboration and alliance with Brightstar.
