BRIGHTSTAR CORP. APPOINTS MR. BERNARD KATZ, FORMER TELSTRA EXECUTIVE, DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT—ASIA PACIFIC
6 September, 2005 – MELBOURNE – Brightstar Corp., a leading value-added supply chain management and distribution services company for the wireless industry, is pleased to add Bernard Katz, former General Manager Wireless and Mobile Devices at Telstra, to the Brightstar Logistics subsidiary in Australia.
In his new role as the Director of Business Development—Asia Pacific at Brightstar, Mr. Katz will be responsible for driving the company’s market share through development of new business opportunities and operator and manufacturer relations in the region.
Mr. Katz will be accountable for the Brightstar integrated supply and logistics services team in Australia. He will also lead the product innovation team, identifying industry trends and customer needs in the region and advising the company of technology and product innovation.

He led the devices team in sourcing and selling over 12 million handsets through the Telstra sales channels.
Mr. Katz’s experience in the wireless industry has crossed a broad range of technologies, including AMPS, GSM, CDMA, I mode and 3G.
Prior to joining Telstra in 1995, Mr. Katz worked in the information technology industry holding management roles in Sales, Product Management and Marketing.
